Tiffany Cannon-Keiser, MA, LMHC
Tiffany Cannon-Keiser, MA, LMHC has studied, trained and practiced psychology for over 30 years, receiving academic instruction and clinical training in Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston. As a result of her diverse education and clinical experiences, Tiffany has exceptional skills in developing positive therapeutic relationships with a variety of populations. She has a special interest in, and affinity for, cross cultural counseling, family adjustment to revelations about identity/sexuality and empowering individuals to transcend difficulties in order to heal and find peace.
As an undergraduate at the University of Southern California, Tiffany worked with world renowned researchers at USC's Social Science Research Institute and gained clinical experience working with chronically mentally ill populations at the Anne Sippi Clinic for the Treatment of Schizophrenia.
Upon being awarded her AB in Psychology, Tiffany moved to Chicago and received training and gained experience in the treatment of Substance Use Disorders while employed as an Addictions Therapist at Lorettto Hospital's Chemical Dependence Unit.
During her graduate studies at Boston College, Tiffany worked as a Research Assistant for faculty investigating long-term relationships. While completing her final year at BC, she served minority families with abuse and neglect issues as a (practicum student) Clinician at the New England Home for Little Wanderers.
After earning her MA in Counseling Psychology from Boston College, Tiffany returned to her home state of Idaho where she worked with at-risk adolescents as a Substance Abuse Prevention/Intervention Specialist for the Boise School District.
Over the following years, Tiffany received specialized training and experience in sexual abuse treatment, trauma resolution and the process of restitution and repair before moving with her husband to Los Angeles where she worked with foster children in therapeutic foster homes.
While living on the island of Puerto Rico, Tiffany was able to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother. She was delighted to have the time to spend at home with her son for the first few years of his life.
Upon conclusion of their island adventure, Tiffany and "her boys" landed in Spokane, Washington where Tiffany resumed her work as a psychotherapist. She spent 10 years as a Therapist just across the state line on the Adult Psychiatric Unit at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho before joining the efforts of NEWESD101's Spokane Spirit grant to provide mental health services to students in the school setting (federally funded in response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut). After over 1 1/2 years working in Eating Disorder treatment as an Outpatient Therapist at The Emily Program's Spokane site, Tiffany has embarked on the thrilling and fulfilling adventure of private practice: Little Bird Psychotherapy.
